Speaker Book 1: The Nature of a New World

My whole life changed in a single moment. I was a university student coming home from a week-long trip away with the rest of my course, when an accident struck and the world around me faded to black.

Once the light returned, I found myself in another world, where magic flowed freely in everyone. Those of us summoned were told that our ‘Willpower’ was the key to avoiding destruction. The Empire taught us, developed our knowledge and newfound abilities, spouting how we had to be for the Taint that ravaged the lands.

Except… I wasn’t like the others.

An alluring voice haunted my thoughts. I was told to be wary of The Empire and their silver tongue. Yet the voice had the potential to lead me astray.

With uncertainty weighing on my mind, I needed answers. I had to dig, sneak and most of all, study my way through this new world to uncover its true nature.

But ultimately, I had to know, what was really tainting this world?
